We do not have a democracy. We have a ‘bourgeois’ democracy. The ‘bourgeoisie — the capitalists, the ‘1%’ — have a democracy, where they discuss and debate through the mechanism of government how best to administer their collective affairs and extend their dominance over all others. For the rest of us, bourgeois democracy manifests itself as nothing more than the glorified dictatorship of the bourgeoisie.
